Helping women feel more empowered in their health
I'm Maia, a specialist women's health dietitian and I work with women to empower them to manage their conditions through diet and lifestyle.
This may be managing symptoms of PCOS, optimising their fertility, reducing inflammation for endometriosis, managing symptoms of the menopause or addressing hormonal imbalances.
My approach combines evidence-based nutrition with compassionate, personalised and culturally inclusive care, appreciating each woman's unique and individual background.
I started working as a dietitian in the NHS - this is when I noticed a massive gap in care, support, and services for women's health. I established the first women's health clinic in my trust, and since then I've worked exclusively with women in my own private practice and through partnering with some fantastic women's health startups.
Currently, I’m developing myPCOS, a one of it’s kind programme that will leverage my expertise to help as many women as possible to learn about their PCOS, manage their PCOS symptoms effectively, and feel empowered to discuss their condition with healthcare professionals, friends and family. Currently in the NHS, the support for PCOS just isn’t there. Women are tired of being told to ‘just take the pill’ or ‘just come back when you want to get pregnant.’ There is SO much diet and lifestyle can do to support this condition and I want this information to be known and shared widely.
